Faith of My Fathers

I want to virtually share a historical book I have in my possession that was passed down from my great, great grandfather, Cornelius Van Leuven.  With a strong dutch heritage, he brought his family down from Canada to travel across the United States with the fifteenth mormon pioneer company in 1852 to settle in Springville, Utah.  This book and the signatures contained inside is a tangible testament to me of what my fathers knew to be true.

This book appears to be an original 1853 publication from Liverpool or London of "Biographical Sketches of Joseph Smith, the Prophet and his Progenitors for many generations" written by Lucy Smith, mother of the prophet and published for Orson Prat by S. Signatures
Inside the front of the book, there are several signatures written in pencil and in pen.  The bottom signature is definitely my dad's, "Cornelius Ray Van Leuven".  Above it, someone wrote his name (with Jr.) and his birthdate April 29, 1935.  Above this is my grandfather's name, Cornelius Ray Van Leuven, born Oct 28, 1899 in Springville UT.  Above this is my great grandfather's name, Cornelius A. Van Leuven, born Jan 25, 1872 also in Springville UT.  Above this is my great, great grandfather's name, Cornelius Van Leuven, born August 23, 1805 on the shore of Lake Erie near Canadian boundary.  He came to Utah in 1852 in the fifteenth pioneer company under Captain Robert Wimmer.
